Oral hygiene, the right habits to use
L'oral hygiene is very important and there are several correct habits to follow to ensure the health of your mouth over time.
The right routine for dental’hygiene
Surely it all starts with adopting a daily oral hygiene routine to be followed at home and then going to the dentist or hygienist at least once every six months for a dental cleaning and a check-up of one's situation.
This is to avoid incurring dental diseases such as cavities and gum disease that cause pain, discomfort but also bad breath that can lead to embarrassment.
For proper oral hygiene everything also starts with a good diet, better to avoid sugar and prefer fiber.
About half an hour after each meal, brush your teeth by brushing them well (from root to tip, along a vertical line): however, do not overdo the cleaning to avoid damaging the enamel.
Brush your teeth three times a day
Ideally, brush teeth three times a day (avoid using hard-bristled toothbrushes). Don't forget to floss at least once a day. Remember that the toothbrush should be changed cyclically.
Also brushing the tongue and rinsing with a mouthwash (if cosmetic, it can be used several times a day), but without rinsing and preferably without drinking or eating anything half an hour after brushing (so as to preserve the fluoride in the toothpaste).
Definitely do not forget to brush your teeth before going to bed because this is precisely the time when the mouth can be attacked by gum infections and caries (precisely because the amount of saliva decreases and consequently the oral protection threshold also decreases).
In the evening, it is also good to avoid eating sweet and salty snacks before bedtime precisely because, as seen, oral health starts precisely from a healthy diet in which it is best to avoid overly sugary foods that could only stimulate the onset of diseases of the teeth and gums.
